Experimental design utilized for studying A. castellanii encystment in vitro. Samples were harvested at 0 h (reference sample — T0), 1, 4 and 8 h after triggering encystment (E) as well as in the control condition (C). RNA and proteins were extracted. Proteins were trypsin-digested, and phospho-peptides were enriched. The three samples were analyzed with the pipeline described on the right (see material and methods for more detailed information). DR differentially regulated, DE differentially expressed, GO gene ontology.
