Clinker substitution potentials for Italy through the United States (as listed in Fig. 4), were greater than 100% in 2018, so a reduced number of secondary CMs are shown for these countries (see Supplementary Information S2 for the full dataset). Potential generation of secondary CMs (by CM type, lower bars, and for coal fly ash and granulated blast furnace slag, upper bars) relative to cement production in 2018 are shown for each country (colored columns). These potential generation values are comparable to the actual reported secondary CMs-to-cement ratios in 2018 (dark gray shaded backgrounds).
