a After 2/3 partial hepatectomy or CCl4 injection, PROM1 expression increases in hepatocytes. Upregulated PROM1 recruits GP130 into lipid rafts by interacting with GP130. PROM1/GP130 complex in lipid rafts facilitates the IL-6-GP130-STAT3 signaling pathway. Therefore, PROM1 promotes hepatocyte proliferation during liver regeneration.
