From: Rational design of N-heterocyclic compound classes via regenerative cyclization of diamines
Reaction conditions: 2 mmol 1,8-diaminonaphthalene, 2 mmol amino alcohol, 0.6 mmol KOtBu, 1 mol% [Mn-I] (0.02 mmol), 3 mL 2-MeTHF, 100 °C (oil bath), 2 h + 15 h, open system (anaerobic conditions). After 2 h: addition of 2 mmol benzaldehyde. Isolated yields in brackets.
