a–i Representative background-subtracted magneto-optical images taken at the indicated times after the arrival of the pump pulse (wavelength 13 μm, duration ≈ 2 ps). The dashed blue line in b indicates the half-maximum intensity level of the pump pulse. The circular patterns in the bottom-left corners of b–i arise from the monochromatic probe pulse scattering off defects in the sample, creating an interference pattern.
