IGPS is a bienzyme composed of two subunits, i.e., HisF and HisH, that constitute the cyclase and glutaminase domains, here colored respectively in green-to-blue and red-to-yellow gradients, respectively, and separated by a dotted line which marks the interface between HisF and HisH. The labels (fα2, fα3, fβ2, loop1, hα1, Ω-loop) indicate secondary structure elements that are directly involved in the allosteric regulation, as found by previous studies.
