The segmented cryo-EM density maps for WT SC tetramer (a1) and CRD1∆ SC trimer (a2) are shown with colors distinguishing CIll (light blue), CIV (pink), ligands, and cofactors (yellow). The grey regions of the density maps show low-threshold density areas, which may be noise, detergent and/or potential structured regions, albeit with flexibility. Models were generated (as discussed in methods) for WT SC tetramer (b1) and CRD1∆ SC trimer (b2). A ribbon representation of CIlI subunits is displayed in shades of blue, and CIV subunits are displayed in shades of pink.
