From: The MOM1 complex recruits the RdDM machinery via MORC6 to establish de novo DNA methylation
The MOM1 complex is first loaded onto RdDM target sites through an unknown mechanism to facilitate the binding of the MORC6 protein. MORC6 would then enhance the recruitment the Pol V arm of the RdDM machinery to methylate target DNA, by topologically entrapping the DNA as well as directly interacting with RdDM components, thus serving as a tethering factor29,37,51,52.
