UBP5 interacts with PWO1 (a PEAT complex subunit) and possibly with PRC2 through a direct interaction with SWN. UBP5 recruitment to chromatin associates with PRC2-related cis-elements (light blue boxes). UBP5 acts as a H2A deubiquitinase and prevents the deposition of H3K27me3, leading to transcriptional de-repression and changes in plant development. Created with BioRender.com.
