There were 12,452 forest communities used in our analysis. The arrows indicate the trait associations of a conservative (Conse) to acquisitive (Acqui) and b Isohydric (Isohy) to Anisohydric (Aniso) separately. The principal component (PC) scores were calculated using the PCA coordinates in the main two components (Fig. 2a) to obtain the eigenvalue for each community.
