Annual Arctic-tundra ecosystem respiration from the year 2015 to 2100 calculated using a Q10 of 2 (solid lines; the inferred emergent sensitivity of CESM and similar to that of many other ESMs), or a Q10 of 2.8 (dashed lines; from this study) and projected temperatures from CESM. The color of the lines refers to the Shared Socioeconomic Pathway scenarios used to determine the change in soil temperature predicted in each year (as shown in Supplementary Fig. 7).
