Second-order process in the single-molecule light–matter coupling g that results in the release of a photon, and vibrational excitations \({\omega }_{{\nu }_{i}}\) and \({\omega }_{{\nu }_{j}}\) in two different molecules (even when they are far apart). It is fundamentally different to radiative pumping and can be regarded as a coherent version of the polariton-assisted photon recycling mechanism in Fig. 3b.
