Pew data. All countries shown, except eastern post-communist countries. Differences in percentage of participation, importance, and belonging between younger ( < 40) and older ( + 40) individuals in different countries. Positive differences show younger individuals being less religious than older individuals. The countries on the y axis are ranked from most religious (top) to least religious (bottom). We plot the 95% confidence intervals. For better visibility, only half of the confidence interval is plotted - for positive percentage values at the right of the respective percentage bar, for negative percentage values at the left of the respective percentage bar.
