In this work, we identify SMARCA4 as a ferroptosis-promoting tumour suppressor gene. Its direct transcriptional target, ALDH16A1, interacts with TXN, promoting its lysosomal degradation and inhibiting its oxidoreductase function, thereby mediating SMARCA4’s pro-ferroptosis property.
