a TEY, b IPFY. NaNiO2 (top) was measured at 10 K and 8 T field, LiNiO2 (bottom) was measured at 10 K and 8 T field. The models (orange) are fit using the same compositions as in Fig. 3. The XMCD signature of the spin-zero component is negligible. The calculated L2 IPFY XMCD was scaled up by the same factor as the linear L2 spectra in Fig. 3b. Raw spectra: Supplementary Fig. 3.
