From: Endothelial RAB5IF is required for pathological and developmental retinal angiogenesis
RAB5IF promotes pathological and developmental retinal angiogenesis, potentially through promoting mitochondrial respiration and fusion, as well as increasing SUMO2 protein expression. The latter also promotes SUMOylation of Gαi1 and Gαi3, which is vital for mediating VEGFR signaling.
