RNA purified from HeLa cells infected with the VACV WR strain was treated either by RNA 5′ Polyphosphatase or by RNA 5′ Polyphosphatase followed by Terminator 5′-Phosphate-Dependent Exonuclease and analyzed by semiquantitative RT-PCR (21 amplification cycles) for the presence of early (J6R), intermediate (A2L) and late (C3L) transcripts. The figure shows the results of one of two independent experiments.
