A Pt 4f XPS spectra of Pt(111) after electrolyte contact at 0.8 V (“pristine”) and after oxidation at 1.8 and 2.1 V. A Shirley background was subtracted from the data. B Evolution of the integrated intensities of the different Pt species as a function of potential. Corresponding O 1s and C 1s spectra are shown in Fig. S10.
