From: Multi-omics reveals nitrogen dynamics associated with soil microbial blooms during snowmelt
Gene expression of proteolytic enzymes were summed by MAGs within microbial response groups on each date. The number of MAGs in each groups was - Winter-Adapted n = 30 MAGs; Snowmelt-Specialist n = 32; Spring-Adapted n = 28 MAGs; Fall-Adapted n = 77 MAGs. The lower and upper hinges of the boxplots represent the 25th and 75th percentiles, respectively, and the center line is the median in all panels. Whiskers extend from the median by 1.5x the interquartile range. Data points laying outside of whiskers represent outliers in all panels. Data was combined across soil depths in all panels.
