  1. These reactions were catalysed by SsCfaL and used substrates CFA (1), aromatic variant 7, enantiomers of trans-jasmonic acid 5 ((3R,7R)-5 and (3S,7S)-5) and racemic (±)-5. The JA samples also contain a small amount of cis-epimer. Michaelis–Menten plots can be found in Supplementary Fig. 7. Values represent means, error denotes s.d., with n ≥ 3.
