  1. Abundances of major elements in wt% obtained from APXS are compared with remote-sensing observations of the same region with Chandrayaan-2 CLASS62 and estimated abundances using the global elemental abundance maps63. The bulk compositions of Apollo 16 and Luna 20 are average values extracted from the chemical compositional analysis of samples from previous reports (see Methods) and the numbers in the bracket indicate the range of variability across those measurements.
