The x-axis shows different sets of covariates considered, and the y-axis represents the difference between adjusted and unadjusted estimates. The list of base covariates is described in the METHODS section. PCs denote that 240 genotypic principal components calculated from common and rare variants were included in the analyses as fixed effects. Clusters represent k-means based clusters of birthplace coordinates for UK Biobank participants (METHODS). The number of clusters was varied between 10 and 100 to better capture localized geographic confounding.
