First THP-1 cells are gated based on forward and side scatter. Doublets are excluded in the following two steps, after which bead+ cells are gated. Phagocytic score is calculated by multiplying the percentage of bead-positive cells with the mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) of the beads within these cells to account for the number of beads per cell.
