Functional Roles of bLF C-Lobe: Inhibition of Hemozoin Formation, Heme Binding, and Hemozoin Degradation. Evaluation of the functional roles of bLF C-lobe: (a) inhibition of hemozoin formation, (b) heme binding, and (c) degradation of hemozoin of bLF C-lobe. For (a), samples were tested at 0.5, 5, and 50 µM concentrations. All tests were conducted in triplicate. In (b, c), samples were standardized to a 50 µM concentration. The co-precipitate (complex) of heme and bLF or C-lobe is highlighted within the black dotted circle. The microscope field of view presents a representative image.
