Fabrication of 3D microvascular networks by plant cultivation method. (a) Process flow of the proposed technique. A plant seed is cultivated on a culture medium containing silica nanoparticles. After cultivation, the sample is heat-sintered to remove the plant while transcribing its root structure into hollow microchannels within a transparent glass chip.
