Fiber-rich diet preserves adult hippocampal neurogenesis in 5xFAD mice. Representative immunofluorescent images of DCX (green) with or without DAPI counterstaining (blue) in the dentate gyrus of hippocampus from 6-month-old WT and 5xFAD mice under fiber-free (FF) or fiber-plus (FP) diets. Quantification of DCX⁺ newborn neurons per region of interest (ROI) revealed a marked reduction in FFAD mice, which was significantly rescued by FP diet (right panel). Data are presented as mean ± SEM; n = 5 mice per group.
