The y-axis represents the frequency range (nucleotide periodicity from 0 to 0.5 Hz). The frequencies of interest are indicated directly on the axis to facilitate the identification of regions of high activation. The z-axis is represented bidimensionally as a jet colormap, where the color scale transitions from blue (low activation) to red (high activation).
