From: Uptake mechanisms and functions of isolated mitochondria in mesenchymal stromal cells

Pathway of isolated mitochondrial uptake by mesenchymal stromal cells. (a) C3H10T1/2 cells were pre-incubated at 4 °C for 30 min and treated with CFSE-labeled mitochondria at 4 °C for 1 h. *p < 0.05 (Welch’s t-test vs. 37 °C). (b–d) Effects of dynasore (DYN; 50 µM), methyl-β-cyclodextrin (MβCD; 20 mM), and 5-(N-ethyl-N-isopropyl)-amiloride (EIPA; 25 µM) on mitochondrial uptake were evaluated in C3H10T1/2 cells pretreated with each inhibitor and incubated with CFSE-labeled mitochondria for 6 h. Internalization was quantified via flow cytometry. Control indicates the cells treated with vehicle without any inhibitors. *p < 0.05 (Welch’s t-test vs. control). ns, not significant. All data are represented as the mean ± SD (n = 3).
