Exercise goals

1. At least 150 min of moderate to vigorous aerobic exercise

2. 1–3 sets of calisthenics (10 repetitions of twelve exercises)

40–80% of HRR

No restriction on rest interval

Intervention strategies

1. Weekly face-to-face exercise education sessions

2. Weekly phone follow-up

3. Provision of exercise diary

Face-to-face education session covers proper walking and exercise technique, usage of an exercise diary

Exercise diary

Exercise diary covers goal setting, strategies to achieve goals, an explanation of the benefits of exercise for patients with NTM-PD, and detailed exercise instructions with pictures.

Guidance on exercise modification strategies when patients have respiratory symptoms.

Exercise recommendations when patients have comorbidities such as diabetes, kidney disease, osteoarthritis, etc.

Tracking respiratory symptoms (cough, sputum, hemoptysis) and daily step count.

Comprehensive 4-week diary with weekly templates including:

- Daily meal tracking

- Strength training sets

- Aerobic exercise duration

- Symptom monitoring (cough frequency, sputum, hemoptysis)

- Step count tracking

- Weekly progress evaluation
