Extended version of the experiment shown in Fig. 6, where two \(^{44}\textrm{Ca}^+\) ions were used as coolant ions (LC) and \(^{40}\textrm{Ca}^+\) ions were selectively loaded, thereby generating various isotope ion chains. Except for the initial two \(^{44}\textrm{Ca}^+\) ions, all ions were loaded via sympathetic cooling. The region labeled (1) indicates the maximum number of ions that can be crystallized. In region (2) and beyond, one of the \(^{44}\textrm{Ca}^+\) ions (LC) escaped, resulting in a state where multiple \(^{40}\textrm{Ca}^+\) ions (SC) were trapped with only a single \(^{44}\textrm{Ca}^+\) ion acting as the coolant ion.
