Violin music exhibited significantly greater power density (Hedges’ g = 0.96) and roughness (Hedges’ g = 1.17) than piano music. Negative values occasionally observed in kernel density estimation were artifacts of smoothing; raw data points confirmed all measurements were non-negative.
