Generation is denoted by the letter G and the number in the brackets denotes the maternal clutch from which the focal generation were obtained. Each individual from generation G3 and G4 was followed for the entirety of their lifetimes, which is denoted by the horizontal lines. Each vertical intersecting line represents a clutch, of which only four were followed from G3. All other clutches were removed and measured.
