The SEM images reveal semi-crystalline structures, which are closely correlated with the distribution of elements such as sulfur (S), sodium (Na), and magnesium (Mg) detected by EDX, suggesting that these elemental compositions may contribute to the observed crystalline-like features rather than originating solely from the polymeric chains of ulvan.
