Retraction of: Scientific Reports https://doi.org/10.1038/s41598-025-88183-1, published online 15 April 2025
The Editors have retracted this Article.
After publication, concerns were raised about scientific plausibility of the results. In particular, reported freezing point shifts of tens of degrees Celsius following acoustic or electrochemical treatment are inconsistent with established thermodynamic principles for aqueous systems. Moreover, the reported instability in physicochemical parameters contrasts with claims of large, reproducible freezing point changes. In addition, there is a substantial overlap with a previously-published article by some of the same authors1. The Editors have therefore lost confidence in the content of this Article.
Fahrettin Gogus did not explicitly state whether they agree or disagree with the retraction. None of the other Authors responded to the correspondence regarding this retraction.
