Simulation procedure in Study 1. Step 1: Group members are randomly selected from among 108 participants. Step 2: An inference strategy is allocated to each member. Steps 3 and 4: Each group member makes inferences individually using the allocated strategy for all 105 problems on the Difficult and Easy lists.
