In (a) and (d), the reference period is 1941–1970 and changes are shown for the period 1991–2020, i.e. the past. Note the different colour scale used in (a). In (b) and (c), the reference period is 1991–2020 and changes are shown for the future period 2071–2100 following the SSP5-8.5 scenario. The dotted lines mark an area where the RH averages show a high temporal correlation with the MMM and ERA5 precipitation area, respectively.
