Mean response of AmelOR136 A and AmelOR109 B, measured in spikes per second, upon stimulation with one of the 18 acetate derivatives presented at 1000 μg. Isobutyl acetate, isopentyl acetate, benzyl acetate, butyl acetate, ethyl butyrate, ethyl-3-hydroxybutyrate, and isopentyl propionate activate AmelOR136 (*p < 0.05, n = 12). AmelOR109 is activated by 15 ester odorants (*p < 0.05, n = 16).
