The measurement of the mechanical pressure applied against time, with the time of reaction (light from photodiode) and when the optical gate of the spectrometer was open (when the signal is high) for the fallhammer a and the Hopkinson bars b. Hopkinson bar pressure data time shifted to correct for delay caused by propagation of the pressure pulse from the specimen to the gauge station.
