a The proton spins in formic acid are contained in a 5 mm NMR tube and pneumatically shuttled between a 1.3-T prepolarizing magnet and a rubidium vapor cell. A magnetic shield isolates the hypothesis testing zone from the external Earth’s magnetic field. A guiding field is applied in the z direction.
