In the originally published version of this article, the y-axis “Relative level” units in Fig. 2h and the charts in Extended Data Fig. 7j–m were incorrect. Additionally, the colors of the line charts for the “fl/fl, AICAR+” group and the “Foxc2 MKO, AICAR-” group in Fig. 8k were swapped. These issues have been corrected in the HTML and PDF versions of the article. The corrections do not affect the paper’s conclusions.
