Panels (ac) show the probability density graphs of the temperature offset (Toffset) between microclimate (Tmicro) and mesoclimate (Tmeso) (i.e., Toffset=  Tmicro  – Tmeso) in 2003 (before forest loss) and 2022 (after forest loss) and the changes in Toffset caused by forest loss between the two years (ΔToffset= Toffset(2022) – Toffset(2003)) in Mount Bale (Ethiopia), Mount Kilimanjaro (Tanzania), and the Taita Hills (Kenya) respectively.
