a Fabrication process: After preparation of the hydrogel solution, hydrogel patches are UV-cured by photopolymerization. Then the patches are immersed in superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPION) solution for integrating magnetic nanoparticles through absorption into the hydrogel matrix. b Phantom filled with dry magnetic hydrogel patches. c Swelling of the hydrogels for 24 h in a 24-well plate. d Phantom filled with swollen hydrogels in pH 2, 4, 7, and 10. e Used preclinical MPI System (Bruker MPI system 25/20 FF).
