With this cross‑journal Collection, the editors at Nature Communications, Communications Health, Communications Sustainability, and Communications Earth & Environment, together with Scientific Reports, invite manuscripts that advance understanding of One Health as an integrated approach that recognizes the interdependence of human, animal, and environmental health and aims at protecting global health through disease prevention, detection, and control.
Globalization, climate and environmental change have intensified complex health challenges, including emerging and re‑emerging zoonotic diseases, pathogen spillover, vector‑borne infections, food and water safety risks, and the spread of antimicrobial resistance. Addressing these challenges requires interdisciplinary research that spans ecological, biological, social, and governance systems across local, regional, and global scales.
This Collection welcomes submissions that highlight novel insights, methodologies, and applications of One Health. We also encourage contributions that develop or evaluate best practices for the design, conduct, and reporting of One Health research, as well as studies that address barriers and opportunities for translating One Health principles into policy and practice.
Nature Communications, Communications Health, Communications Sustainability, and Communications Earth & Environment will consider original Articles, Reviews, and Perspectives. Scientific Reports will consider original Articles.
