Aldo R. Boccaccini is Professor of Materials Science (Biomaterials) and Head of the Institute of Biomaterials at University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. He is a visiting professor at Imperial College London, UK, and RWTH Aachen University (Germany). The research activities of Prof. Boccaccini are in the field of ceramics, glasses and composites for biomedical, functional and/or structural applications with focus on bioactive materials, composites, scaffolds for tissue engineering, nanomaterials for drug delivery, biofabrication and antibacterial coatings.


Rujie He, PhD

Dr. Rujie  is a tenured professor and doctoral supervisor at Beijing Institute of Technology. He has long been engaged in the research of basic theories, key technologies, and engineering applications related to 3D printing of ceramics and their composites.

Philippe Miele, PhD

Philippe MIELE is Professor at the "Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier". He is also the head of the UNESCO Chair SIMEV "Membrane Science Applied to the Environment". His main research interest is focused on boron chemistry, particularly molecules and materials for applications in the fields of energy, the environment, and health. He is an expert in the field of "non-oxide" ceramics elaborated through the pyrolysis of preceramic polymers route (or Polymer-Derived Ceramics), particulary boron nitride in specific morphologies as in the form of long fibers or porous materials.


Majid Minary, PhD

Minary is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. His research and expertise include additive manufacturing processes and techniques, advanced materials for manufacturing, precision engineering and micro/nano manufacturing, and hybrid manufacturing processes. In particular he is interested in AM of ceramic materials for energy and healthcare applications and manufacturing of hybrid electronics.

Xin'Gang Luan, PhD

Xingang Luan is Professor of School of Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), former Chinese director of NPU-TU Darmstadt Joint International Research Laboratory of Ultrahigh Ceramic Matrix Composites.His current research activities are focused on design and preparation of high temperature functional ceramic and ultra-high temperature ceramic matrix composites (UHTCMCs) by PDC and CVI methods based on percursor derived ceramics.He is an expert in the field of oxidation, corrosion, hydrothermal corrosion, stressed oxidation and ablation of high and ultra-high temperature composites such as C/C, C/SiC, self-healing C/SiC, and SiC/SiC.

Dr Swee Leong Sing is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore. His research interest is enabling material development and creating strategic values for the industry through advanced manufacturing.


Zhaoju Yu, PhD
Xiamen University, Xiamen, China




Zhaoju Yu is a full professor in the College of Materials at the Xiamen University, China. She was the recipient of a Humboldt Research Fellowship awarded in 2016 and guest professor in the frame of an international scientist exchange program with the research group “Disperse Feststoffe” at the Materials and Geosciences Department of the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany. She received the prestigious ECD Jubilee Global Diversity Award (2022) and ACerS Global Ambassador Award (2022). She serves as Associate Editor for the journals Journal of the American Ceramic Society, Ceramics International and International Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology. Her research interests cover a variety of different hot topics in materials chemistry as well as in materials science and nanotechnology ranging from synthesis of preceramic polymers to polymer-derived nanoscaled ceramics and characterization of their structural and functional properties.
