Food Noise - persistent, intrusive thoughts about food - affects appetite regulation, psychological well-being, and metabolic health. However, its mechanisms and management are not well understood. This collection invites articles that define, measure, and address food noise across biological, behavioural, and therapeutic dimensions.

  • Food noise

This special collection for Nutrition & Diabetes will focus on the emerging topic of food noise—a term increasingly used to describe persistent, intrusive thoughts about food that can interfere with daily life, appetite regulation, and psychological well-being. As interest grows around its potential links to obesity, disordered eating, and metabolic conditions like diabetes, this collection will bring together cutting-edge research, clinical perspectives, and patient-reported outcomes to better define, measure, and understand food noise. By exploring its biological, behavioral, and therapeutic dimensions, the collection aims to stimulate further investigation and inform evidence-based approaches to treatment and care.
