The discovery of superconductivity in infinite-layer nickelates presents exciting opportunities in strongly correlated materials, but their systematic investigation is hindered by significant synthesis challenges. Here, the authors introduce a sputtering-based method using an aluminum overlayer for topotactic reduction, producing high-quality Pr0.8Sr0.2NiO2 thin films with superconducting properties consistent with optimal values, thus facilitating broader exploration of nickelate superconductors.
