  • This work demonstrates a nonlinearity-enhanced combination of dispersive and dissipative coupling in photon-pressure circuits, a circuit-QED analog of optomechanics, and reveals how transparency and backaction are modified by coupling-interference. The results hold relevance for radiation-pressure systems, (quantum) control protocols and Hamiltonian simulation.

  • Modern high-resolution X-ray microscopy techniques suffer from limited field-of-view or longer acquisition times. Here the authors use structured illumination to enable fast, full-field super-resolution transmission microscopy, even for optically thick specimens and at hard X-ray energies.

  • The immune response is key in determining disease severity of COVID19. Here Nouailles et al., apply bulk proteomics and scRNA-Seq of lung and blood samples of SARS-CoV-2 infected Syrian hamsters and provide a temporal atlas of the systemic and pulmonary cellular responses.

  • Early stellarator designs suffered from high particle losses, an issue that can be addressed by optimization of the coils. Here the authors measure the magnetic field lines in the Wendelstein 7-X stellarator, confirming that the complicated design of the superconducting coils has been realized successfully.
