The high cost and low efficiency of current deuteration methods hinder scalable deuteration of organic compounds. Here, the authors report an electrolyser using Pdδ + /NC cathode achieving the deuteration of aldehydes, ketones, imines, and alkenes under solvent-free conditions using pure D2O.
