Eosinophil-derived interleukin-24 compromises epithelial integrity and aggravates airway remodeling in mouse models of allergic asthma

Previous studies have implicated interleukin-24 (IL-24) in neutrophilic asthma. Here the authors show the function of IL-24 release from eosinophils in eosinophilic asthma in mouse models of asthma and that IL-24 promotes eosinophil recruitment to the lungs and is involved in disruption of epithelial barrier integrity.
