Reciprocal control of metabolic and chromatin regulators improves rice tolerance to heat

In this work, Zhang, Jia, Wang et al. show that MORCs stabilize PRC2 preferentially at bivalent domains to maintain high levels of H3 K27 trimethylation and form chromatin loops for gene repression and stress tolerance, and are counteracted by ALKBH1, a DNA 6mA demethylase.

Regulation of m⁶A RNA reader protein OsECT3 activity by lysine acetylation in the cold stress response in rice

Ma et al. report a regulatory mechanism by which lysine acetylation of the m⁶A reader protein OsECT3 modulates its m⁶A-binding activity under cold stress. The reduced acetylation level stabilizes cold-responsive mRNAs to enhance cold tolerance in rice.
